Happy Holidays

So, are you still enjoying the holidays or are you back to the regular day-to-day? I took some vacation time so I am off work until January 5th. I am loving being lazy, sitting here in my pajamas with no plans for the day other than *maybe* going in for a haircut.
So, I was surfing the blogs again today and found this gem on the Pink Paislee site. This is gorgeous and what a great idea, I sooo have to try this! Check out their blog for better pictures and don't forget to visit their blog on January 1st for a birthday bash!

Another pagemaps card

I liked the sketch so much I made another card using some BG:

Supplies:

BG Sugared pop and chipboard
"Oh baby" using Cricut ( Zooballoo)
Hero Arts stamp "Old French Writing"

2 Sketches 4 You card

Here is Laura's sketch #16

Here's my card, I used K & Co (Amy Butler - Lotus) supplies:

Designer Call at Sketch This!

The chosen designers will be on the design team for 1 year. (Jan 09- Dec 09) There will be 2 teams--- 5 designers for the layout team and 5 designers for the card team. See the blog site for further details.

Do you like scraplifting?

Everybody is so crazy about sketches but one of my faves is actually scraplifting. I will browse through sites and magazines until I find a layout that grabs my attention and I will base my own layout on it. I am not one of those ladies that can pull a Picasso out of her butt on a daily basis, I need help (often) LOL. Found a website that actually challenges people to lift somebody elses creation. Check it out!!

Basic Grey Sketches/PageMaps

Here is a sketch from the PageMaps site (April 2008)

(sketch by Becky Fleck)

My layout. Not the best scan in the world but it'll do LOL. I used the Lil Scrappers August Kit (All SEI Chick-a-Doo line).

Techniques (Blog candy)

First of all, isn't this layout by Kelly Goree absolutely stunning? I *LOVE* it. I also love the technique she used on her picture, using a BW photo and then adding a splash of colour. The thing is, I have no idea how to do this. Do you use special markers, some cool software program.... I dunno.

(layout by Kelly Goree)

I would love it if you would leave a comment or link on how to do this particular technique so that I can start trying it out myself. I have Adobe PhotoShop Elements 6.0 but to be honest I haven't really used it yet, I am scared of it LOL...

I threw a couple of items together as a RAK, for those that leave a comment. I will draw a name next Sunday evening. Thanks!

Goodnight, *Heidi*

A few quick goodies

I was "browsing" and found a few cool things I thought I would share.

Crocheted flowers
I have no real need for these as I rarely make "girly" layouts and I have enough primas to last me years but I think they are gorgeous..... would really add some wow factor to a layout (or card).

Origami snowflake
Isn't this gorgeous? Check out Virginia's post on the Scrapalicious blog for instructions.

I Am a Scrapaholic - Paper Christmas Tree

Another yummy project for those of you with patience LOL! Isn't this gorgeous? I love the faux snow. Check out their blog for instructions on how to make this.

Another yummy card blog to check out!

Was blog hopping and found this gem on the "Running With Scissors" blog, some absolutely beautiful cards!!

(card by Leslie Miller)
